Generation Hong Kong, in collaboration with The D. H. Chen Foundation has launched the “Guardians of the Silver Age” programme, aimed at redefining care in the eldercare sector. This initiative seeks to drive innovation in the industry and actively explore the possibilities of a new generation of silver age services, promoting high-quality independent living for the elderly in response to the ongoing challenges of an aging population.
The program offers a free elderly care course that trains and nurtures individuals aspiring to enter the eldercare sector. It teaches the latest caregiving knowledge in the industry, along with Generation Hong Kong’s tailored behavioral skills and mindset (BSM) for elderly care. This aims to optimize elderly services at both the individual and organizational levels, driving change throughout the entire industry ecosystem from the top down.

Calling All Guardians of the Silver Age ! Get ready to embrace unique elderly care tasks and inject new vitality into the lives of the elderly! The Guardian of the Silver Age program offers an 8-week free elderly care course designed for individuals aspiring to enter the eldercare sector. This program provides professional care and rehabilitation training, and upon graduation, participants will receive the latest employment information, one-on-one professional consultation, and job referrals, allowing you to unleash your potential and thrive in your career caring for the elderly!
The course aims to enhance the quality of life for the elderly and cultivates learners to practice a caregiving mission centred on “human-centric compassion” and empathy for the elderly. In addition to providing knowledge on nursing and rehabilitation, the course focuses on practical skills training and incorporates real-world simulation scenarios based on interactive teaching models from abroad to enhance learners’ adaptability and empathy. To align with the latest market developments, instructors will introduce cutting-edge eldercare technologies and innovative concepts related to clothing, food, housing, and transportation, helping learners build a more professional and sustainable career!
Requirements
- Aged 18 or above, with a desire to enter the elderly care industry
- No specific educational background or experience required
- Good command of Chinese and basic English
- Basic computer and technology application knowledge
- Passion and compassion for the elderly, willing to engage with them long-term
- Desire for personal growth
- Successful completion of a simple language and basic elderly care knowledge assessment and interview
- Eligibility to work legally in Hong Kong
