Brian Cheng

CEO of Generation Hong Kong

Brian Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer of Generation Hong Kong, which is a part of the global independent non-profit organization founded by McKinsey & Company. Since its launch in early 2018, Brian has been leading Generation Hong Kong which aims at transforming the education-to-employment system to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible, and to solve the talent mismatch and the future talent needs in Hong Kong.

Brian is passionate about supporting the youth and community in other various capacities. Currently, Brian serves as a council member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, a member of the Advisory Committee on Gifted Education under The Education Bureau, a member of the Advisory Committee of Diploma of Applied Education, and a member of the Honorary Advisory Committee of Enactus Hong Kong. Brian has also supported various social innovation competitions as a judge, mentor and advisor.

Prior to joining Generation, Brian had been in the higher education sector over the past decade, leading the Asia operation of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the administrative functions of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology.

Brian holds a B.A. and a M.B.A. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and an Executive M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Brian is the recipient of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive MBA Program Scholarship, which aims to support aspiring leaders in non-profit organizations, fostering their development and contributing to the social service sector in Hong Kong.
